WITHOUT I & II

Using the hand as a fixed and recognisable form, this work considers how bodily decline and the changing exterior, often framed as grotesque or undesirable, can instead be understood as a normalised condition.

Modelling wax over an armature of wire and masking tape to form the sculpture. Sequins, beads, and other ornate material arranged to create an abject, uneasy response for the person engaging with the forming visual. Mould from a stored orange transferred to the sculpture to generate mutation and decay.
